Sóstenes Díaz González

Mr. Sóstenes Díaz González has a B.S. in Economics from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), and possesses Master degree studies in Economics from El Colegio de México.
He has more than 19 years of experience in the telecommunications sector, working for the Regulator since 1999 when he first joined the now extinct Federal Telecommunications Commission. He has been responsible for various relevant regulatory projects, such as: the design and implementation of cost models for interconnection services and wholesale services; the development of the interconnection cost methodology; the definition of the Preponderant Economic Agent´s interconnection points; the review of Interconnection Framework Agreements and the Public Offers for several wholesale services: Leased Lines, MVNOs and Roaming, as well as the specification of asymmetric interconnection rates for services provided by the Preponderant Economic Agent. In addition to the above, Mr. Díaz has worked within the Academy as a professor of the subjects of “Microeconomics I” and “Microeconomics II” in the Unique Program of Postgraduate Specializations of the Faculty of Economics at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. On April 25, 2018, he was ratified by a qualified majority in the Senate as Commissioner of the Federal Telecommunications Institute for a period of 9 years.
