Ledia Bregu

Ledia Bregu is Director of Payments, Accounting and Finance Department at Bank of Albania (BoA) focusing on managing the area of licensing, oversight and operation of payment systems as well as leading national financial inclusion policies from the payments perspective. Graduated in Finance at the Faculty of Economics, University of Tirana and then MBA degree from IAE, Poitiers University, France. After a brief experience as a valuator of private investment funds at Societe Generale Securities Services France she joined the Bank of Albania’s Internal Audit Department, where during 9 years of experience contributed in strengthening the Bank’s internal control system, and leaded among many others two of the most significant projects in the field of Operational Risk and Business Continuity capacity building. While in her leading role in the Payment Systems area from 2018, Bank of Albania is heading towards an overall modernization of payments systems with multiple actions in parallel ranging from regulatory to infrastructural aiming to support FinTech development, boost financial inclusion and increase electronic payments per capita in Albania.
