Daryl Collins

Dr. Daryl Collins is author of the acclaimed Portfolios of the Poor and a pioneer in innovative social research methods. In the past two decades, Dr. Collins has executed Financial Diaries studies in over 10 countries, including China. Dr. Collins spent the last decade as Managing Director and CEO of BFA, a niche consulting practice with offices in Boston, New York, Nairobi, New Delhi and Medellin. She is currently on what she calls a “working sabbatical” and is developing new tech-led consumer research methods for low-income and vulnerable populations. Dr. Collins holds a B.Sc. and an M.Sc. in economics from the London School of Economics and a Ph.D. from New York University.
