Amol Kulkarni
Amol Kulkarni is Director (Research) at CUTS International, a global, independent, non-profit, public policy research and advocacy organisation, headquartered in India, with presence in other countries. He works at intersection of evidence and policy with the objective of bridging the gap between the two, thereby making policies in emerging economies responsive and responsible. He is adept in innovative use of tools like regulatory impact assessment and competition assessment in this regard. Since the last eight years at CUTS, Amol has led several initiatives to make nuanced and practical evidence-based policy, regulatory, and practice interventions in the areas of finance, investment, trade, data, technology, energy, e-commerce, payments, doing business, and competitiveness. In this process, he had managed complex and large-scale surveys, consultations with diverse stakeholder groups, including consumers, government, policy makers, regulators, and industry. He has several research publications to his credit, writes regularly for media, and represents CUTS at high-profile forums. Amol has a bachelor degree in law and business administration with honours in corporate laws. He has previously worked with a top Indian law firm and the National Institute for Public Finance and Policy, as consultant for the Financial Sector Legislative Reforms Commission, constituted by the Government of India.
